LEARN MORE

The effectiveness of Inside/Out Chaplaincy is determined by continued prayer support, which undergirds the service of our chaplains, our mentors, and our staff.  We believe that prayer is the powerhouse – the engine room – driving the mission of the Association.  Many people feel that they are too busy to be actively involved in IOC – yet the most important and basic level of involvement is time spent in prayer, daily conversation with God. Seriously, how hard could that be?

Prayer Partners

As such, we recognise the need to increase our prayer partners; and also to ensure that our prayer partners are informed,  so that they can pray intelligently for the service of IOC. A prayer partner is someone who has committed to pray for us daily, in making our requests, and our thanksgiving, known to God. To assist our prayer partners in this vital service, we provide a monthly prayer bulletin, called Insider Praying .

Please contact us to register your intention to become a prayer partner with IOC, and start receiving Insider Praying .

Prayer Meetings

There is a tremendous sense of encouragement in joining together with other believers to pray for the chaplains, the mentors, the prisoners, and the staff of Queensland Correctional Services (QCS).  As such, we recognise the importance of corporate prayer, and we celebrate the fact that there are already a number of prayer meetings occurring throughout Queensland, in which people join together to pray.

Prayer meetings are normally led by a member of the committee or the director of the Association. Quite often, chaplains, and sometimes, former prisoners also attend, to share – openly and honestly – about the opportunities, and the struggles involved in the work. Whilst we operate within the boundaries of legislature (with respect to both the Privacy Act and QCS’ expectations of us in accordance with the code of conduct), our prayer meetings allow for first hand knowledge and experience of the service we operate, and are a great source of encouragement for all who attend.

If you would like to attend a prayer meeting – details are below. Please contact us to register your intention to become involved in a local prayer meeting, or, if there isn’t one near you, perhaps you might like to consider facilitating one?
