Inside/Out Prison Chaplaincy recognizes that partnership has a very strong biblical basis, built around the idea of koinonia .
Partnership with IOPC
Partnership with IOPC means an intentional investment in God’s Kingdom, aligning our priorities regarding our God-given time, talents, and treasures.
Giving of our time to pray – in daily conversation with God and each other about what He is doing, by His spirit, in the lives of those who are, or have been, incarcerated. Praying for our chaplains and mentors; for those with whom they minister; for the leaders of IOPC; for the leaders of Corrective Services; for God’s continued blessing on this ministry. This might also mean giving our time to serve, either in chaplaincy, mentoring, or business related activities according to how God has skilled and equipped you.
It also entails utilising our talents in serving those who are directly ministering to our brothers and sisters in Christ, so that the Gospel is able to be shared, God’s redemption enacted, and lives transformed in a way which would be impossible if attempted by any one individual. This means giving of our talents in ways which we had perhaps not previously considered. We are looking for committed Christians to assist us in business activities such as administration, marketing, public relations, web development and information technology. We are also seeking support in establishing ministry supervision and mentoring; training programs and resources.
Finally it means aligning our earthly treasures, to where our hearts and minds already are; sacrificially giving in a monthly, quarterly or annual basis so that the people God has called into the coal-face of this ministry are released to serve Him without being encumbered by financial burden. This means committing to ongoing sponsorship of IOC; enabling our organisational employees, chaplains and mentors, to continue to serve inside (and out) the prisons of Queensland.
Partnership with IOC is all about Christ’s body: His Church, working together across all boundaries, for the purposes of His Kingdom, to the glory of God.
If you can partner with us through prayer, volunteering your time to chaplain or mentor or help run our association, or by providing an in-kind contra service we would like to hear from you.
