Last month we provided solid reasons for financial partnership with Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy. These focused on the value add that our chaplaincy service brings, through the many hundreds of hours which each chaplain volunteers each year.
The considerable saving to the Queensland tax-purse through just one prisoner who does not return to custody as a result of our chaplaincy and mentoring service (some $82 000 p.a.). And finally the biblical reasons for caring for those (brothers and sisters in Christ) in prison.
Many people responded positively giving gifts throughout May and June.
My sincerest thanks to those who gave, sacrificially, to IOPC during this period. I am also very thankful for those who not only gave, but committed to continue to give in monthly, quarterly or annual sponsorship of our chaplains and mentors. This allows the organisation to make solid plans around training, equipping and resourcing our volunteer workers so that they can be effective in this task.
On behalf of the Committee of Management, Alison and myself, thank you.
However, I recognize that my thanks pale into comparison to the ‘treasure in heaven’ which God has promised to His people as they sew into the Kingdom building work of disciple-making.
God bless you,
Jesse
