Many readers of The Inside Story would be well aware of the significant contribution that Alison Dines has made to the ministry of Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy over the past seven years.
Alison originally came to us a volunteer chaplain, having asked God to ‘surprise her’ with a ministry that would be both challenging and rewarding.
She was soon approached by Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy to consider the role of the newly created position “Post release coordinator”, commencing in 2010, which she prayerfully accepted.
Alison continued to act in a prayerful manner throughout her time with us, as she sought the Spirit’s guidance in placing each and every participant in a welcoming and supportive fellowship.
Throughout her time with us, Alison has had to work amidst challenging circumstances, navigating some very difficult waters! No doubt she would have had some mountain top experiences, rejoicing with people as they testify to new life in Christ, through public baptism. Similarly, there would have been many days ‘in the valley’ when people relapse into addiction and ended up ‘back inside’.
Alison has been my colleague for most of her years with us and more than that, she has been my friend. I want to thank her for her many years of faithful service with us and pray that God will continue to use her in the service of His Kingdom.
God bless you Alison!
