Almost 50 Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy volunteer prison chaplains from across Queensland came together in Brisbane last week.
They attended the annual three-day State Chaplaincy Board in-service training for all Queensland prison chaplains, held at the Brisbane International Conference Centre.
On the same weekend, Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy hosted a dinner for its volunteers, at which a number of long-serving chaplains were recognised for their dedication to supporting people inside correctional centres.
Long-service awards were presented to: Pat Stone, Wayne Nickson, Myra Steele, Wendy Schuster, Wendy Eggert, Joshua Masala, Stephen Chapman, Terry Eyles, Jona Stubbs, Jason Wilcox and Sean Marsh.
Between them the 11 committed chaplains have contributed a combined 165 years of service to prison chaplaincy ministries.
The gathering also celebrated and farewelled a number of departing and retiring prison chaplains and gave thanks to God for their faithful service to their communities.
