In 2016, Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy was at a critical moment in time. The membership of the Association was called to pray and seek God’s direction for our future. God answered that prayer, and an opportunity for partnership with Carinity was presented to a meeting of Members for consideration. The unanimous outcome was a clear sign of God’s leading, and we thank God for what has transpired.
Today we look back on what didn’t happen twelve months ago – and thank God. Prison Chaplains didn’t stop attending prisons. The Gospel didn’t stop being preached. Prisoners weren’t abandoned or forgotten by the evangelical churches of Queensland. The mission didn’t cease.
While our brand has been refreshed to reflect our shared identity with Carinity, our ethos remains the same. We continue to participate in the mission through acts of care, compassion, proclamation and teaching. Similarly we continue to be a praying people, seeking God’s leading and desiring to respond in faithful obedience to Him.
May the Holy Spirit continue to fan into flame the work of our chaplaincy and mentoring into 2017 and beyond.
